Pluribus Networks Announces Vice President of Sales

PALO ALTO, Calif. – December 10, 2013 – Pluribus Networks, an innovator in software and hardware network virtualization platforms for the cloud, announced today that Jim Schneibel has joined the company as vice president of sales. Schneibel joined Pluribus from Riverbed Technology. Pluribus also announced that it has doubled the office space at its new Palo Alto headquarters at 2455 Faber Place.

During 2013, the company has doubled its employee number; the new location can house up to 100 employees, supporting the company’s growth in 2014 and beyond. The 13,200-square-foot office has ten conferences rooms – compared to three in the previous location – as well as a bigger server room, a special customer training room, and a gym for its employees.

A key employee hire for Pluribus at this stage of the company’s growth is Jim Schneibel, its vice president of worldwide sales. Before Pluribus, he was vice president of enterprise sales, Americas, at Riverbed. Prior to Riverbed, he held various sales and business development executive positions at tech companies such as Cisco and Bay Networks, with the last position being regional vice president of sales.

“The feedback from the companies in the Pluribus Early Access Program has been very positive,” said Schneibel. “When you get to hear positive feedback so early, it certainly helps you validate your beliefs in the market and the technology that this team is delivering to its target customers.”

“We are pleased to have Jim join our growing team,” said Kumar Srikantan, Pluribus president and CEO. “Our pipeline is growing, we already have our product in 16 countries, and, with Jim’s expertise and relationships in the networking and storage markets, we will be able to respond to the existing customer interest while expanding our sales pipeline.”

With Pluribus, customers achieve the full promise of open, programmable infrastructures for delivering scalable, application-aware cloud services in a unified virtual and physical network environment, while smoothly integrating with existing datacenter technologies. The company has pioneered a distributed bare-metal network hypervisor OS technology, Netvisor®, along with defining the industry’s first server-switch hardware platform. This powerful and innovative architectural approach unites software, merchant silicon and robust system design to bring commodity server virtualization benefits for the first time directly into the network.
