As we begin the new year, there are several powerful market trends converging, driving demand for our solutions and growth for our business.
First, network infrastructure, especially data centers, are heading towards a software-defined future where automation, agility, and elasticity are core requirements. Second, the financial, technical, and operational benefits offered by Open Networking is driving demand for our software solutions. This has led us to further strengthen, invest in, and expand our relationships with hardware partners Dell EMC and Edgecore. These relationships give Pluribus the flexibility to offer customers Open Networking solutions tailored to their needs as they design their single-site and multi-site data center and private cloud networks.
It is one thing to have secular tailwinds at your back, it is another to execute across the organization to meet the opportunity. Since joining Pluribus as CMO in October, I have been impressed by the team we have here, from engineering to product management, finance to the sales engineers in the field. The Pluribus team has put in the work and is delivering for our customers, partners, and for each other. The proof point I have seen since landing at Pluribus is an extremely mature and hardened Netvisor ONE open networking operating system and the extremely unique Adaptive Cloud Fabric. The Adaptive Cloud Fabric is a controllerless next generation SDN fabric overlay solution that is easily deployed in brownfield environments, provides best-in-class network slicing and that dramatically simplifies data center networking, especially multiple geographically distributed data centers.
As this solution has moved from adolescence to adulthood, the industry is now recognizing the unique value we deliver and in 2018 by IDC, who named Pluribus an Innovator for Datacenter Software-Defined Networking, 2018 and by Deloitte who named Pluribus the #58 Fastest Growing Company in North America in 2018.
2018 was also the year Pluribus become a truly global organization. Our growth has been driven by our strategic OEM partners Ericsson and Tibco and Open Networking partners Dell EMC and Edgecore and further enabled through strategic investment in our direct channel with more than 30 resellers providing coverage in North America; Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and the Asia Pacific and Japan regions. As a result, we now have more than 200 customer deployments in 25 countries across the enterprise, service provider and cloud segments.
An example of our capabilities was highlighted in a recent announcement with Dell EMC at Econocom Italia, a digital transformation leader. With our help, Econocom Italia launched Naboo Cloud, Italy’s first software defined offering that integrates connectivity and co-location, delivering a “gateway of services” to large and mid-sized businesses. Econocom deployed Netvisor ONE and the Adaptive Cloud Fabric, unifying 4 data centers across Italy and providing an agile platform to deploy their cloud service.
Econocom Italia’s chief operating officer Paolo Bombonati spoke to the powerful benefits of Open Networking, and the Pluribus solution, when he said,
“The programmability, performance, and economics of our software-defined infrastructure is critical to our success and the foundation of our customer experience. Pluribus’ distributed, controllerless Adaptive Cloud Fabric architecture automates plug and play operation with Econocom Italia’s existing network infrastructure. Pluribus is delivering a non-disruptive and transparent solution that makes it easier for Econocom Italia to deliver, manage, and secure service delivery.”
Every day, with the help of our partners, Pluribus is making a difference for organizations around the world by making software-defined data center networking a powerful reality producing tangible benefits. Pluribus heads into the new year in a great position to help our customers achieve their software-defined ambitions and objectives. We have the right solution, the right partners and the right team to meet the opportunity and delight our customers. Here’s to a great 2019!
